Cindy - LOL about the bean cookies. You never know, you might like my recipe for Dark Chocolate Cookies (with black beans) Although, you may want to adjust the sugar down and adjust up some of the other ingredients for your families needs:

Hear hear! Someone asked me recently - "you have a healthy living blog, so why do you have cookie recipes with butter and sugar?" To which I replied "what other kind of cookie recipes ARE there??" If I want flax or kale, I'm not gonna put 'em in my cookies. If I don't want butter, I won't eat a cookie. Real butter, real sugar . . . delicious cookies.

Hi Cindy, thanks for the lovely comment on my blog. The I'm a Little Chef cookbook is fabbo - it even has pages conducive to cooking with kids - ie: coated! It's actually an independent publication put out by an Australian self-publishing company called Little Steps. As a self-published author myself, it's wonderful to support other self-published works. I can't recommend this book highly enough!

Love your site and I'm going to try these cookies! On the healthy cookie front - I also agree that the odd indulgent cookie is a fine thing indeed but if you eat more than, like, a few a week, it might be worth switching to more healthy ones like your suggestions. High-indulgence cookies may taste great but the high levels of salt, sugar, trans fat and preservatives probably typify one of the worst possible foods humans can indulge in regularly (next to donuts).

Everything in moderation!

Tania :)

I should also add that one should never ever make a cookie with a recipe that calls for beans. It's criminal.

I don't even have a macro lens! I'd love to have one. But I'm a bit paralized by choosing between a fancy flash, some photoshop-like software, or a lens. Blogging is getting expensive!!
Anyway, thanks for stopping by and the compliment.

I couldn't agree more. And totally off the topic. You do some great macro photography for these posts.

It must just be the blogger geek in me that makes me read a post about bad cookies and think, "Wow, really nice photo."
